I never thought of it like that, but you know, it sort of makes sense. With one caveat - the senses. If you think that all we do is basically data that we obtain from the senses, processed by the brain/nervous system/whatever-other-definition-of-intellect, then yeah. Same number of transistors arranged to do bitblts and 3D triangles rather than solving equations, or, hmm... being leaders :)
One thing I can tell you, whenever I saw a really good surfer on a wave, or a really good rider on a bike, or basically anyone really good at something I understood enough to appreciate just how good these people were at that... whenever I then got to meet those people, I (usually) found them to be quite interesting people. Also, getting that good often requires an extreme dedication, so other aspects of the persona, or at least their visible manifestations almost invariably degrade. Maybe I am totally off, who the fuck knows...
